Athens County Children Services

Office Building & Campus Improvements

Based on comprehensive facility assessment and feasibility studies conducted by BDT, Athens County Children Services (ACCS) has made the strategic decision to proceed with the construction of a new office building and site development on their existing campus. This initiative encompasses the development of an approximately 25,000 SF office facility designed to consolidate a majority of the services currently scattered across the campus and in remote locations. By centralizing these functions, the project aims to enhance operational efficiency, improve accessibility for staff and clients, and foster a more collaborative work environment. The new building will serve as a hub for various departments, facilitating better communication and resource sharing.

In addition to the main office building, the project will include a 6,500 square foot replacement facility to meet current operational needs. The plan also involves the demolition and removal of several smaller, outdated structures that no longer serve the campus’s objectives. Furthermore, necessary improvements will be made to Buildings 6 and 8 to ensure they meet modern standards and contribute to the overall functionality of the site. Comprehensive site and infrastructure enhancements will support the new development, including upgrades to utilities, landscaping, and access roads. This multifaceted approach not only addresses immediate space requirements but also positions ACCS for future growth and adaptability in an evolving operational landscape.
