BDT EXPANDS DESIGN EFFORTS INTO COLUMBUS

BDTAID, Inc. (BDT) is delighted to announce its expansion into Columbus, BDT Principal Architect Nicholas Bittner is heading up the renovation efforts and will lead the Columbus office.

The new office is located at 33 N Grant Ave in the re-developing Discovery District. “This location is surrounded by Columbus State, Columbus College of Art and Design and Capital University Law School. The Discovery District is the perfect place to establish our design presence in Columbus” says Bittner.  The recently expanded and renovated Columbus Museum of Art and Columbus Metropolitan Library are also nearby.

The Columbus office at 33 N Grant Ave will make use of a first floor office space built in 1924.  BDT is renovating the street-facing half of the two-story mixed-use building this fall. Working with the property owner, HomeTeam Properties, BDT plans to restore the facade to permit large expanses of glass to fill the new studio with light.

BDT will provide the customer-service centric focus that is a core of its practice, to higher education, healthcare, cultural, and commercial clients in the capital city. Its Athens-located office currently serves Columbus-based clients such as The Ohio State University and OhioHealth. BDT was instrumental in the redesign efforts of Ohio University’s College of Business in Athens. BDT Columbus is slated to open to the public in early 2017.

BDT is a multidisciplinary design practice, founded in Athens, Ohio in 1983. Offering full-service architectural, planning and interior design, BDT specializes in Healthcare, Higher Education, commercial and Church & State markets. Regardless of building type or scale, BDT practices a service-oriented methodology intended to surpass client needs, while delivering intuitively organized spaces and buildings that fit appropriately within the community.

As part of its expansion efforts, BDT is launching a completely redesigned website to better interact with its clients.  “It’s a very exciting time for our company and I can’t wait to share the progress with our Athens and Columbus followers,” says Bittner. He plans to post stories and updates on the Columbus office.
