Holzer Meigs County

Meigs County is one of the very few counties in the state of Ohio without a hospital facility. For many years, the county had especially struggled without a free-standing, fully operational emergency department. Its administrators envisioned its ideal facility, and BDT designed a building to include all required medical services necessary for a 24/7 emergency department—diagnostic testing, imaging, medical lab, treatment bays, trauma room, triage spaces, and support areas.

In addition, the design allowed for future expansion to both emergency medical and clinical spaces. This project is the first of what BDT hopes will be an overall plan to improve medical services for the region.
