Sometimes it’s just wonderful to start over. Holiday Inn’s corporate design direction received a facelift, which meant a $3-million total renovation of a five-story hotel in Portsmouth. Both inside and out, renovations were sure to draw more overnight guests into this Ohio River-town.
Designers selected contemporary finishes with clean lines for the complete rehabilitation of the lobby, pool area, and all guest rooms. Primary focal points included a new bar, restaurant, and banquet hall, along with production kitchen areas.
On the exterior, the existing window storefront system, which spanned between structural concrete columns and floor beams, was removed to make way for the new version. The result was an updated façade that met Holiday Inn’s revised standards.
