Holzer decided to take healthcare one step further—and it repurposed a former grocery store in the process. Holzer administrators envisioned a wellness center complete with therapeutic facilities—including a pool, community room, and gym—all supervised by Holzer Health Systems’ Clinical Physical Therapy Department.
To begin this phased project, a funding plan was developed that would allow for continued growth of the facility over several years. Initial implementation phases included rebranding the building through an entrance canopy that reflected design elements of other Holzer Health buildings. This canopy reoriented the entrance with a metal-clad, upward-sweeping entrance that gave the building a whole new feel. Other exterior work included the replacement of a barreled roof for the clinical and exercise-related spaces.
